Unbelievably Awesome Weather

Seriously, could this weather get any better?!?! The kids and I were ready to roll and it was a sunny 71 degrees so we headed to Mimi's Park (aka Bond Park). We played hard, fed the pond life and enjoyed a picnic lunch.
By the afternoon, it was 86 and still sunny, so we hit the pool with our neighbors and found a few preschool friends there too - woohoo!!! Fun in the sun!

Duke Gardens

We had a terrific family day visiting Duke Gardens!  We let the kids lead the way and we explored a whole different side of the gardens than we had been before.  We could not leave without visiting the fish pond. The kids had the most fun collecting rocks and tossing them into ponds and water fountains.

Tooth Fairy Visits!

We noticed last week that Kate had a loose tooth.  While Peter and I were out on a date, we got a text from Ms. Rachel that Kate's first tooth came out!!!  After cleaning it up and placing in a special bag, they put the tooth under Kate's pillow.  In the morning Kate came running down the hallway with a little satchel filled with four quarters.  She was so excited and could not believe that the tooth fairy came to her house in the middle of the night.  She said she thought she heard someone whisper in her ear...

Splash Pad

The kids and I have really wanted to check out this splash pad in Cary not too far from our house.  We decided that today was the day and as we drove there the skies got REALLY dark and then it started POURING!  So we took our time, got Max's hair cut and arrived just as the rain stopped and the sun peaked out!  Hooray, it was meant to be!!!

Family Day

Peter had a one-day weekend so we wanted to make the most of it and the great weather.  We started with family fun at Kelly Road Park and ended with family date night.

Noodle

Anna LOVES her yellow noodle she has affectionately named "Noonie".

Planes: Fire & Rescue

The kids and I had put go to the movies on our list of things to do this summer, it was a gloomy day, Peter had to work and a new Planes movie just opened.  All these factors led to a successful first movie theater experience for Anna! She made it to the end and was able to tell Daddy, "Dusty the plane got broken and needed to get fixed."

Pullen Park

We had one last adventure at Pullen Park with our cousins before they headed back to Florida.  This park is absolutely phenomenal and we have more fun every time we go.  The weather was PERFECT and we were able to do the train, carousel, kiddie boats, playground and picnic.   I LOVE PULLEN PARK!!! It was so kind and thoughtful of the VanVooren Family to include us in all the fun!
