Terrific Tuesdays

Alex takes our Tuesdays seriously!  We walk the kids to school then we continue on a walk of our own. Followed by a trip to Mr. Keith's story time at our local library.  Alex takes careful consideration filling our bag with books to take home for everyone. On our way home we stop for our Dunkin' Date where he gets three munchkins (blueberry, glazed and powdered) and I get coffee.  I treasure and protect these days with all my heart.  Then to see the excitement unfold with every book then comes out of the library bag is PRICELESS!

Happy Birthday

Alex and I got to help spoil Ms. Milberg with Anna and her class.  We secretly collected cards from all the kids throughout the week and then we brought in flowers, doughnuts (for the kids)/Le Farm pastries (for the adults), and delivered the sweet notes that would make any teacher proud (or cry)!  It was short and sweet and everything nice!

PINK

We have been listening to Spring According to Humphrey in the car this week which is very appropriate as we transition to spring here!  There are signs everywhere - trees budding, cherry blossoms in full bloom, we have caught more frogs and worms than I can count, grass is growing, perenials are blossoming, no jackets required in the morning, I lost all control in the garden center at Lowes (oops)...Woohoo!!! SPRING. IS HERE!

I Pledge Allegiance...

Alex seemed interested in learning the Pledge of Allegiance.  We started reading a book about the Pledge of Allegiance and the kids have been practicing with him.  I just think it is so neat that he wanted to figure this out and worked so hard.
Happy President's Day

Max - SOTW

Max was the Student of the Week!
He got to make a poster and write a blog post about himself on their class website.  All the kids comment on the post, which brings big smiles and giggles!  It is a really cute way to highlight each student while incorporating some academic pieces.  In addition to being SOTW, the class went on a field trip to the Planetarium and celebrated Valentine's Day - a seriously good week!

Tooth Fairy

Anna lost another tooth!!!  She wrote a sweet note to the Tooth Fairy and did a beautiful drawing. The Fairy must have been impressed (or ran into a leprechaun) because Anna found a gold chocolate coin in addition to her four quarters!

Valentine's Continues

Of course the kids were SUPER excited about their classroom celebrations!

Alex made a cute little LOVEBUG headband, played games, and decorated his Valentine Box! He was SUPER excited to read every Valentine - he giggled about each one and had me re-read them three times!
Max was determined to win the "MOST CREATIVE" Valentine Box - He WON!  Let the Force Be With You Son of Mine! Max said, "This was the best Valentine's Day ever!"
Anna's class celebrated the ENTIRE day!  Anna made more valentine's than anyone in the house - I have been delivering Valentine's and Mailing Valentines for weeks now!!! Little did she know Daddy and I secretly made her a special Valentine to be delivered to her in class - so fun!!
Kate was very proud of her Valentines and we drove all over the neighborhood BEFORE school delivering to friends who are not in her class! Even though her class did not have a box competition, she was proud to make one and bring it to school anyway!

Even our neighbor brought the kids treats! Thank you Miss Caitlin!

This holiday is just so sweet! The kids work so hard to create little nuggets of LOVE to share with their friends. Not to mention we get to use the glue gun ALOT! :)

XOXO

It was an exciting morning at our house! The kids were excited to see that Daddio left his traditional Valentine surprises behind even though he is in Arizona this week.  The girls received flowers and the boys got new books.  I made a special heart breakfast.  The kids were all eager to celebrate Valentine's Day at school with their friends!

Lots of love from us to YOU!
XOXO

Tennis

Anna has been eager to start tennis.  She joined the Aces at Cary Tennis Park.  She meets once a week for a 30 minute lesson. I am certain she was the most excited player on the court!
Kate and Max moved up to the Futures group.  They spent a lot more time on each drill and focused on each skill in greater depth. It is pretty amazing to see it all coming together for them.

The Big 9!

The kids had an awesome day from start to finish! We woke them up early to get their gift from us so Peter could be there.
New bikes were a shocking surprise!
We had a little time to practice using the handle brakes before walking to school.
Breakfast Candles
Birthday treats with friends at school during recess!
Dinner at Five Guys
We finished off the day with Movie Night!
