Oh the Fun We Had...

After Turkey day my parents toured half of North Carolina to spend time with each of their grandchildren (and us)! Our time with them included Kidzu, Fearrington Village, Green Acres Farm, tons of baking, lots of play time, long walks with my Dad, a trip to Target with Mom, too much of Grandma's chip-n-dip (Kate Loves), Grandpa putting together the kids' activity table (Christmas gift), and relaxing dinners with Indian Food and Turkey Pot Pies!

Green Acres Farm - to find our first tree for the new house.
Max ran through every row with the biggest grin the entire time.

Thanks for finding special time for all of us - you all are awesome!

Thanksgiving 2010

From November

The big hit of the day was the T-Ball set hand selected by Papa D!
From November

Emma was a ball of energy with a lot to say and very busy with her baby and pushing around the cart all day. She calls both Max and Kate "Max Kate".

Poor Bunny...

Kate was having a snack of dry cereal and decided to share with Bunny. Then I hear cereal fall all over the floor followed by Kate saying "No No Bunny!" I asked her what happened and her exasperated response, "Bunny."

Peter and Max had the best time with the leaf blower.

Very Lucky

We are very lucky to have a wonderful Grammie and Pop Pop nearby in Greensboro once again (back from Maine). We spent the day with them playing with the Kranz boys' toys, eating, and going to Country Park.
Max was obsessed with Pop Pop, Pop Pop's watch, the barn that moos, a GIANT cement truck, and the geese.

Kate was obsessed with Pop Pop, Pop Pop's chocolate cupcake, the grandfather clock, washing her hands, going pee-pee with everyone, telling Max "No No", and the "Bebe Duckie".

Cookout!

We may have ended the cookout season but we had a blast doing it!
While the parents enjoyed a few drinks, the kids explored the backyard.

The fur coat cracks me up.

We could not believe they all stood around this table and ate so nicely!

21 Months!

These two little monkeys are such a hoot! They are curious, adventurous, daring, creative, sneaky, obsessive, attention seeking, talking, singing, giggling bundles of energy!

Kate is currently interested in potty training (we shall see how long this lasts). She sits on the potty twice daily eating a mini box of raisins and reading books, occasionally checking for pee-pee so she can earn her two little chocolate chips and a sticker!
She adds words and phrases daily to her repertoire. My favorite phrase this week is "I see it..." She seems to understand concepts like up/down, in/out, open/close, yes/no. She sings along with several songs including her newest favorites Twinkle, Twinkle; EIEIO; and Wheels on the Bus. Her favorite color to say is "blue".
Kate charges Max to give him big bear hugs which end in them toppled over on the floor usually laughing (occasionally crying). She has also made it her job to "get Max" by grabbing his hand. Recently, she has been trying to "pretend sleep" and "pretend pout" -her faces are hilarious with squinting eyes and pursed lips. She is obsessed with the three girls (4, 7, 8) next door. She tries to go to their house every afternoon to "play". They always love her back and she never wants to leave.

Max has entered a separation anxiety phase along with a "me do it" attitude. Ummm, yeah...
He is picking up words and phrases quickly. My favorite phrase is "bye-bye K (Kate)". He says Kate's name every time he leaves her, even if it just to the next room. His favorite color to say is "ellow" (yellow) pointing out everything that is yellow. He will count 1, 2, 3 with finger motions and runs to us for a hug. I often times find him singing/humming with Glowie in the early morning hours.
Max loves putting play dough in and out of the containers (surprise). Glue is his favorite adhesive. Stickers frustrate him. He is obsessed with balls - throwing, rolling, kicking, carting around. Anything with hinges entertains him for hours! Max "pretends" to wash his hands and pour things out of cups always making the "shhhhh" sound to go with his actions.

Happy Fall Days!
