Alexander - 13 Months

Alexander is a hoot and a handful! The big changes this month are that he is pulling up to standing on his own, is very curious about the toys (and crafts) around him and really wants to be in the middle of the action.
He knows to pull out the bins with trucks, cars, trains, tools, etc., finds the shelf with board books and looks through books with great intention on his face and spends hours exploring the playroom.

The more excited the kids are the more wound up he gets - screaming, trying to "talk" and always smiling! He flies into the bathroom when he hears the water running for tubbies. He started saying "TAY OOH" (Thank you) when we prompt him.

Anna lays in front of Alex and waits for him to crawl on top of her and give hugs and kisses.  Kate loves to help him do little crafts like painting and coloring. Max builds things  for Alex to destroy! Anna loves to push him around in the cozy coupe while the others are chasing them or directing traffic. We are all enjoying playing and getting lots of hugs and kisses from Alexander these days!

Trains Never Get Old

One of the old toys the kids brought down from the attic last week was the wooden train set!  Oh my, not only did Alexander LOVE it, but all the kids have been building trains tracks all over the house! Here is a beautiful site!
In case you do not see the beauty...it is all four kiddos playing together! :)

An Awesome Start

Kate and Max had a smooth start to the first day of first grade!  They sprinted off the bus with grand smiles, bursting with details about their friends, classroom, teachers, lunch, specials and recess!
Kate said the best part of her day was lunch and snack time.  She is very excited her friend Elisenda will be with her for another year. She thinks first grade is going to be even better than Kindergarten!
Max said the best part of his day was going to the media center (now they get to check out two books at once).  He is very excited to have several familiar faces in his class from kindergarten, swim team and preschool! Max said his teacher is HILARIOUS!

Marbles Museum

I asked the kids to make a wish list of things to do the final week of summer vacation.  The week was filled with crafts, the pool, Paint the Pot, Legos, shopping in the attic for old toys and lots of play time at home.  The one BIG wish by Kate, Max, and Anna was a trip to Marbles Museum! So Daddy and I made it happen! ALL the kids had a BLAST!

First Popsicle

The kids and I decided to introduce Alexander to popsicles after a hot walk.  Alexander was a little shocked by the cold in his mouth and hands. He watched Kate, Max, and Anna eat their popsicles and figured out how to enjoy it.  In the end, he was a very happy, sticky boy with his first popsicle!

Beach Week 2015

It was an amazing week, filled with incredible memories, made with special people!!!

Beach Week - Part 3

All the kids embraced the water.  Max said, "I can never go to the beach again without a boogie board!"  The smiles were never bigger and the screams were never happier than when they were playing in the water.
