Alex - 18 Months

Alexander is 1.5 years old! In the past month he has mastered walking and in the past week has realized that walking is more efficient than crawling! Now, he wants to carry things with him everywhere he goes.
He is adding words quickly to his repertoire.  The kids are having fun adding to his vocabulary and have a running list of words in the playroom that they have taught him. Kate is trying to teach him to spell words and Anna is teaching him songs.

Alexander is very curious about everything! He is into all the cupboards, toilets, closets, bins, baskets, bags, drawers, and bunks! He is ALWAYS waiting for an opportunity to sneak into Max's Lego room. Occasionally, I allow Max to indulge him with some Lego time and Alex gets right to work, dumping bins, organizing bricks and arranging figures!
He is getting into crafts more and more.  From coloring to play-dough. He has unrolled many washi tapes and been covered head-to-toe in stickers.  Dry-erase books and water painting are huge hits (and especially useful when trying to help other kids with homework).

Alexander loves being outside.  He is always up for a walk! Any opportunity to dig in the dirt and play with chalk is always a messy success! The thrill of the slides, bikes, plasma cars, sleds, and swings gets the biggest reaction out of him.

He works so hard to keep up with the kids, that he has worn holes through his jeans. He follows what he sees - screaming, playing games, being a pirate, eating like a big kid with a spoon, having tea parties, stirring the toilet water with a sword, hugging and kissing plush friends, brushing his teeth, reading books, spelling words, and dancing...keeps everyone giggling!

Alexander is such a dynamic little guy and fills our hearts and days with so much joy and laughter! Love you to pieces little Buddy Boo!

Anna's Play Date

Anna asked if her friend from ballet, Kinley, could come over for a play date!  Kinley was able to come over one morning and play, play, play!  These two cuties had so much fun playing with dolls, doing crafts, decorating cookies, reading books, dressing up and having a tea party.  We are looking forward to another play date real soon!

Konaf

Day 4 of winter weather was a little more slushy but we made the most of it!  We made bird feeders, met friends at storytime, went out to lunch, shoveled the driveway, hit the slopes and made our snowman!
Kate, Max, and Anna agreed on the name:
Kona (local food truck that specializes in snow cones) + Olaf (Anna's suggestion) = Konaf!

Jonas - Day 3

Today was somewhere between dangerous and super slick fun! The kids were slipping and sliding everywhere - taking out bushes, flying off curbs and falling all over themselves trying to do it all over again!!! Magnificent fun!

This was the "safe zone" where kids came flying at us from all directions while we drank coffee! Best Sunday morning EVER!

Jonas - Day 2

Not sure how it happened, but Day 2 was ever MORE fun than Day 1. We were inside less than three hours of the day from the time we got up to dinner.  Seriously!!! Sledding, sledding and more sledding.  We sled down our street, our yard, the "big hill" and any other slick surface we found.  The conditions were absolutely perfect - packed ice with a light dusting of snow on top and snow falling!  REALLY. AWESOME. DAY!!!

Jonas 2016

Day 1 - We had mostly a wintery mix of ice and rain with a sprinkling of snow flurries here and there.  Nonetheless, we had a BLAST! We sled, we made snowballs, drank hot chocolate, did crafts, baked, sled some more, had friends over, went to friends' houses, sled some more and topped of the day with dinner, robotics and a movie at neighbor Emma's house.  To everyone's surprise, Peter made it home from work just in time to take Alexander down on the sled!  A seriously fun day!

A Weekend of Impromptu

This was the weekend of impromptu activities from play dates to date nights with a sprinkling of snow, tea, tennis and shopping!

The kids had early release Friday, so everyone had a friend come over for the afternoon.  The raining afternoon was filled with snacks, crafts, legos, tea parties and cookie baking!
Max earned a movie night with his marble jar so we had a pizza and movie night with our neighbor Emma. We even squuezed in a little felt heart project and curlers!
We joined the Aguilar family for a little bowling action and lunch.  Uncle Matt had a layover at RDU so we picked him up and filled his time with some brotherly competition!
