Poor Buddy

Max's little friend, Buddy the Lion, has been very sick recently.

Here is a conversation we had the other night at 9pm:

Max: Mom,  Kate is fast asleep but Buddy is keeping me awake because he is sick.
Mom: Oh no, I am sorry to hear that. What do you think is wrong with him?
Max: I don't know, he is sick and he is keeping me awake.
Mom: DO you want me to take him to my bed for the night?
Max: That would be a great idea so I can get some sleep.
 --------next morning--------
Max: How did Buddy do last night?
Mom: He did well, I think he is feeling better.
Max: Did he say anything?
Mom: No, but he smiled.
Max: Well, if he did not say anything, he is still sick.
-------a few days later-------
Mom: How is Buddy doing today?
Max: Not very well.
Mom: Oh no, what are you going to do?
Max: I think we are going to have "Boy Day" (that is what we call Daddy-Max time).  We are going to have a picnic.

"Pop Pop"

Pop Pop is what all of our kids call Ken, including Anna!

Mimi Time

15 Months

Anna is sweeter than ever and makes us smile all day (and sometimes night) long.   Our little tootsie pop is 19lb 14oz, 29.75in, and has a big noggin'!  Her favorite body part this week are eyes. She loves kissing all her animals and babies whether they are stuffed, wooden or a magnet. Her all time favorite little friend is Baby Bear.
Anna knows how to get our attention by singing, clapping, pulling on our legs (until our pants fall down to our ankles), dancing, hugging, kissing, playing games and teasing us.  She babbles more than ever and uses words, sounds, and a couple phrases.
Anna is getting more daring.  She climbs the stairs and can go down "the right way" feet first. She will stand alone.   She will walk around holding our hands.  She is trying to climb up on chairs and stools. In the bathtub she "swims" around sliding from one end to the other, splashing everyone and everything and blowing bubbles.
Anna and Kate are becoming such good little buddies. Kate will spend so much time letting Anna push her around in a baby stroller, playing with her toys, dressing her up, sitting with her and eating, making silly faces or sharing all the bunnies Kate has confiscated from Anna.
Anna and Max play a game where Anna tries to get around Max to get to the stairs all the while Max is saying "Stop. S.T.O.P Stop!" The whole time Anna is laughing and giggling and Max is honestly trying to do the right thing and keep her from getting to the stairs.
We love our happy little girl.

Shannon's Baby Shower

Jennifer, Amy and I hosted a baby shower for Shannon.  Jennifer did an exceptional job with all the decorations and sweet treats. Amy had the brilliant plan of doing a grilled cheese bar - so fun. We decorated bibs and onsies which got sillier the more Bellinis we consumed. :) Shannon got a ton of wonderful books and some very thoughtful gifts.

Play Day

The kids got to have a friend from their preschool class over for a play date. I love the creativity, imaginations and appetites of 3 (almost 4) year olds...  We had a wonderful morning of creative play, snacks, crafts, and lunch!

Family Time

I love a long weekend because there is more time for everything! In between soccer and birthday parties we had a chance to spend a little special one-on-one time with each kid, go on a date, and have lots of good family time.

Brady's Birthday

How fun is this...a birthday party at a fitness center?!?! The kids had a blast running, screaming, playing games, doing relays, flying through the air and dropping into a pit of foam, jumping on trampolines, swinging on bars, jumping rope, shooting baskets...it was such a fun time!

I thought the theme was very appropriate - MONKEYS! :)

WInter Blast!

For those of you wondering why we had a school delay
quite simply, we needed extra time to play
before it all melted away!

The cardboard sled worked nicely! The neighbors brought out the fancy sled which worked even better, shooting the kids over the curb right into our cul-de-sac!
