Uncle Matt - Hero of the Day!

Uncle Matt not only flies every airplane that passes over us every day but he also supplies kiddie pools, teaches us how to swim in the ocean, and is our favorite buddy!

New pool filled and ready for use - the kids squealed and splashed around nonstop until naptime.

Uncle Matt encouraged Max to kick and float like a fish among the waves.

Kate went to new heights on Uncle Matt's shoulders.
(After this, she only wanted Uncle Matt to bring her up from the beach, requested multiple "uppies" from him, and cuddled on the couch with him after her bath.)
Hooray for Uncle Matt!

Beach Bums

I just can not describe the pure happiness the kids have experienced the past 2.5 days. They are totally in their element - grandparents, uncle, outdoors, sunshine, water...

Ahhhh....At Last

We traveled to Litchfield, SC to start our Beach Week 2010 with the Kranz Family.

The kids were thrilled to face forward (a first) for the road trip!
(I am pretty sure he was excited about the beach toys)

Piggly Wiggly
(Daddy is hopeful she will like pork as much as he does)

Quick peek at the beach before the rest of the family arrived.
Oh yes, this is going to be a good week...

Max is on the Move!

Greensboro Children's Museum

Liz, Emma, and Abigail invited the kids and I to Greensboro for lunch and a visit to the Greensboro Children’s Museum. We had the best time EVER! A few highlights from the museum...

Lots for Tots
Max was everywhere - Lego's, mirrors, slides, tunnels... Kate LOVED the car and hated to give it up to waiting children but the soft slide seemed to make life all better.

Airplane (i.e slide)
NO FEAR. The kids went down over and over. Thanks to Abigail who waited at the top, while I collected them at the bottom.

Train
Max did not leave the train table until we moved him... Kate was in and out of the big train, shoveling coals into the fire, pushing control buttons, fueling the engine...

Market
Seriously, this is the cutest ever! The kids roll carts around and fill them with market items. Kate loved the cart. Max enjoyed the "refrigerator section" because it had doors and he could move items from one shelf to another.

Fire Engine
They were not sure what to think of this at first, but once Max crawled in he let out the biggest squeal (and grin) ever!

Time with Aunty Abigail

EMMA!
How cute is she!?!? She is so adorable and she knows how to say "Max" "Love You" "Thank You" and so much more...
Thanks for the fun day. We can not wait to do it again!
