Who Crawled???

Kate crawled clear across her bedroom to the hall this week. She has been working on crawling for a few weeks. It started as rolling, then up on her knees, then pushing off with her feet into a tripod, then pushing forward, now one foot, one arm, then the other foot and the other arm. Incredible if you think about it. Max is up to pushing forward. A few more weeks and he will be on his way!

We started finger foods - so far bananas and tofu. I do not even like tofu but thought I would give it a try. Kate just pops it in her mouth like she has been doing it for months. Max plays with it on the tray. The first day he let me put a piece of banana on his tongue, but then he just sat there with his tongue hanging out of his mouth until I took the banana piece off. Then I put the same banana piece on a spoon and he opened big and happily agreed to eat the piece of banana. I tried the same process with tofu, he closes his mouth tight and I can not get anything in or out. On to cheerios...

Every week "playing" with each other seems to get more sophisticated. Now they will look at each other and scream, one then the other, until they giggle. So cute to watch. Today, Kate attempted Peek-a-boo with Max which they both found to be hilarious.

Emma's Baptism

We had a wonderful weekend in Greensboro celebrating Emma's baptism. Great Grandma Adam and Great Auntie Sue flew in from Minnesota. Grandma Mary, Grandpa Dennis, and Abigail flew in from Connecticut. Liz and Bill cooked up a feast Saturday night. Grandma Mary cut and diced in between holding grandchildren and photo shoots. Sunday was the baptism where we were joined by Bill's family and a few close friends of Liz and Bill. We had a fabulous lunch at the Welch house followed by a beautifully decorated cake by Grandpa Dennis and Abigail - Well Done!

Emma all dressed up!

Beach Week 2009

We have returned from a wonderful week in Litchfield, SC with the entire Kranz Family. We stayed in a house on the beach making it very convenient to come and go to the beach all day long. Max and Kate had a blast and were spoiled with love and affection from everyone!
Max and Kate's first experience in the ocean was so exciting. It was incredible to watch them explore this new experience with such wonder and excitement. Kate was ready to join the fish. Max was a little timid at first but got comfortable with the waves, sand, and sun with a little encouragement from Kate, love from Mom and Dad, and a nap in the tent. (Pictures to come)
Another fun, new experience was their giraffe pool. A great addition to the gear serving as a playpen indoors and a fun place to splish-splash on the deck.
Kate and Max had lots of time with Grammy and Grandpa.

The Aunts and Uncles got their fair share of time with Kate and Max inside and out by the sea.

A beach trip is just not complete without bath time in the sink!
