Big Girl Bed

Our SWEET little girl is in a big girl bed with her big sister.  I even painted (I know, color, shocker!). The transition was seamless (so far) and the girls absolutely love their "girly" room.
Special bed quilts made by Mimi.
Newborn name quilts by Mimi come together.
First night in big girl bed.
I find Anna most morning and afternoons - with her headphones (from Uncle Matt) on!

Signs of Spring

There are clear signs all around us that spring is here...more frequent visits to the park, longer days, blooming trees, shorts and Tshirts, silly umbrellas, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and foam guns all over the patio, tons of dry grass on my floors and talk of visits to the ice cream store. Spring is here and it is going to be good!!!

Kids' Reactions

The kids' reactions to a new baby brother was absolutely priceless!
Max has been asking for a baby brother for a while so he was thrilled when we told him he was going to have a baby brother. Max says he is most excited that there is going to be three boys and three girls in our house - EQUAL! He pointed out that since he has an extra big bed now (Peter's childhood full bed) the new baby could sleep with him.  Max was the first to share our news with his teachers, other parents, neighbors, grandparents and a few strangers. His most recent question: "How did the baby get in there?"
Kate is beyond excited!!!  First question: "Do we know what we are going to name him...I think Nicholas or BATMAN would be good!" Of course, Batman is on the short list now. :) These suggestions were followed by more logistical questions like food, clothes and sleeping arrangements.  She is most excited about teaching him all the things she knows and having Anna for a roommate.
Anna understand a lot more than we anticipated.  She immediately showed us how she would hold the new baby boy and sing him songs. Anna loves going to the u/s to see the "baby movie" and can identify the head, tummy, hands, feet and nose. She is constantly telling me she has a baby in her tummy too. She recently suggested the baby boy could sleep in her crib when he came out of my tummy!

Window Clings

Easter Project #4 involved coloring our own window clings with dry-erase markers.  I thought this was pretty clever and the kids LOVED working on it day after day, erasing mistakes, trading pages etc.  Kate did the honors of hanging the window clings but I am sure there will be many different scenes over the next few weeks. Anna kept messing up the beautiful details so I got out a dry-erase board for her and she has been absolutely content with that as her project!

Happy Birthday Coby Coby!

Coby turns FIVE today! We got to celebrate with him at his super fun CARS themed party.  We lucked out with gorgeous weather so we got to spend the entire time outside building our own cars to race, making paper airplanes, eating pizza and cake and busting open an amazing pinata made by Mr. Alain. Way to throw a party Team Aguilar - you all rock!

Soccer Season

The kids have started another round of soccer!  Kate and Max are in the Micro 4/5 group which simply means they scrimmage with each other and they get to wear shin guards!

Anna (and I) started in the Thumper group which mostly means we play a lot of games and occasionally kick a soccer ball.  Anna was so proud to be doing soccer (like Kate and Max) for the first time.  She could not get enough time kicking the soccer ball!
