Joy

Alex announced it was fox's seventh birthday Saturday.  The girls took it upon themselves to plan a surprise party for the plush friend.  We had decorations, snacks, games, music, and lots of laughs. I am so very grateful for these moments that remind me how much joy the kids get from having time to be creative, together and celebrating all the little things.

Baseball Season

We decided to return to baseball this fall for Alex.  Today was his first scrimmage on the Red Hawks team!  It was also his first time with machine pitch and he hit the pitch both times he was up to bat!  So proud of my little man!

Sleepover

Grandma Mary and Papa D. hosted a sleepover at the condo for Anna and Alex while Kate & max were gone to camp.  They got Brixx for dinner, stayed up late working on projects and watching movies, went to Dairy Queen and tested out their airplanes.  They had a blast!  We topped off the weekend with a few more projects (slime, lego, dots)!  It was a pretty awesome weekend!

Camp Rockmont

Kate, Max and Peter headed to Black Mountain, NC for a weekend in the mountains at Camp Rockmont.  They had a blast swimming, ziplining, playing games, gully washer, blob, BB gun shoot range, s'mores by the camp fire, and more.  It was a really neat way to have some time with just big kids and Dads.

FriYAY!

The kids successfully completed their first week of in-person instruction!  They all had an amazing week.  Alex made three new friends and had his first homework assignment.  Anna reunited with friends from pre-COVID and made new friends in addition to being a truly wonderful big sister.  Max and Kate have slipped right into middle school life seamlessly.  They have had homework and a couple of quizzes this week.  Biking has gone exceptionally well and they have added a couple friends to their route! I am so proud of each of them for embracing our new normal and making each day special.

First Day of School 2021

It was a fantastic day!  Kids had a smooth start.  Kids came home happy, hungry, and eager to tell me everything!

Ready. Set. Go!

Lunches are made, gear is packed, supplies are labeled, outfits sorted, hair is cut - I think we are ready to rock the first day of school and an amazing comeback to in-person education!

Maine: Barred Island

Our final adventure was the coolest hike ever to Barred island, which can only be reached during low tide by crossing a sand bar.

Maine: Stonington & Castine

We did a little day trip to see a couple new towns including Blue Hill, Stonington, and Castine. Stonington (Lobster Town)

Castine (Maine Maritime Academy; Fort George)
