Carolina Tiger Rescue

Alex and I joined his class at the Carolina Tiger Rescue for a field trip.  This place is super amazing.  The exotic animals are awesome and the people who give the tours are absolutely fabulous!  We spent almost two hours learning about a variety of tigers, lions, leopards, cheetah, caracal, serval, bobcats and cougars that were "on tour".  It was an absolutely fascinating experience.

Scrap Exchange

Mimi invited us for an outing to the Scrap Exchange in Durham.  We went with the intention of looking around and then seeing the new art exhibit they were opening.  Well 3.5 hours later, we had bags full of treasures, creations made from recycled materials and had analyzed artwork down to the last scrap.  It was an amazing afternoon!

The Perfect Storm

We got our annual SNOW!  It was perfect - 3 days of anticipation, early release and SNOW!

Play Day (school cancelled) + Weekend = 3 day weekend!!! 

PERFECTION!!!

When I say Play Day, I mean the kids were up with full gear and outside at 8am!  I had to beg them to come in for hot chocolate (before it got cold) and then beg them again to come in for lunch and could hardly get clothes out of the dryer and they were gearing up to go back out! Even the next day, they scouted out the shadowy spots that had not melted and played until lunch.  

They did not want to miss a moment!!!

Happy, Healthy Hearts

Max's teacher wanted a "Heart Healthy" learning experience for Valentine's Day.  A wonderful friend, Carla, from Honor Yoga in Apex offered to have a mini yoga class for the students.  We followed that with a yogurt bar with lots of healthy topping options!
