For the Birds

Kate was sincerely concerned about what the birds were going to eat during our snow event. So we traveled through snow drifts and ice in 19 degree weather (dramatic hugh?) to collect our own pinecones for this project.  Since Max is no longer allergic to peanuts (only walnuts) we were able to make the traditional bird feeder with peanut butter rolled in bird seed.  I could not believe the flocks of birds and squirrels we attracted the day we hung them throughout the yard.  They only lasted a few hours and then they either completely disappeared or were licked clean.
