Linville Canverns

Peter has wanted to take the kids to visit Linville Caverns for the longest time.  They are these really cool caves with incredible stalagmite and stalactite formations throughout.   It was the warmest thing we did all weekend at 52 degrees!!! Then we could not leave without a little hike to Linville Falls!  We made it hope before the weather went crazy and frozen precipitation quietly covered everything making everything icy.  Fortunately, my parents had made chili for dinner so we could hunker down for the night watching movies, playing games, reading, knitting and watching the countdown to the New Year! Kate, Max and Alex were determined to make it to midnight (Anna felt icky and fell asleep at 10:30).  Max welcomed the new year by symbolically opening the door and letting OUT the old year and letting IN the new! 😂
