Just imagine my excitement when I saw this new little sign posted on my walk for Mezza Luna Lavender Farm near our house. I immediately looked it up, emailed the owner and the kids and I visited the very next morning! The family bought this land four years ago, the wife went to a lavender conference, the next thing the husband knew they had 1000 lavender plants (12 varieties) delivered and the plans for a new home to be built on the land. This is their first season open to the public and you get to pick your own lavender. The youngest girl loves painting so she has set up a face painting area with other little activities for the kids. The grandmother has made a variety of little lavender trinkets that she sells on the side like sachets, soap, oils, etc. All the kids were really excited. They all picked their own little bunches. The owners' girls went around with the kids and helped them pick out different types and colors. The whole thing is just so sweet and simple!
