Mary Ellen (Mimi) surprised Ken (Pop Pop) with a surprise party for his 70th birthday. She and her team of girlfriends put so much time and creative thought into every detail. The decorations echoed the nautical theme inside and out. The food from Fresh Market was incredible. The trivia and wall of photos about Ken were hilarious. I was put in charge of invitations and all things sweet. The kids and I had a lot of fun baking all of Pop Pop's favorites. Thanks to pinterest (and some guidance from Yelena) the sailboat cookie favors were a hit! It was a perfect celebration of an amazing father, husband, friend and Grandfather.
