ARF!
The most anticipated theater event of the year at Mills Park Elementary was a huge success. The music teacher organized the production of Arf! by the first grade students. It was an outstanding performance by all and the kids had such a blast!

Camping
Peter has wanted to take the kids camping since we have had kids! He and a buddy, Wil, decided to make their first camping trip together to Hanging Rock State Park in NC. We decided the first trip would be just for the two older kids which made it extra special for them. They went hiking to Window Falls and Hidden Falls, set up camp, cooked hotdogs and s'mores, got cozy in a super awesome tent (I was a little jealous of all the cool new gear), slept well, made an awesome pancake, sausage, egg and nutella pie breakfast, and broke down camp. They each earned three badges - hiking, camp life, and fire safety!
They all loved every. single. minute!!! They did not stop talking about their adventures and camp life until they went to bed. I am so proud of Peter for all the work he put into preparing for this weekend and making it such a wonderful experience for Kate and Max. I am confident there will be more camping in our future and I am eager for the day we are all snug in that awesome tent together.
Staying Home Has Its Perks
While Kate and Max were off camping, Anna, Alex and I kept ourselves plenty busy and indulged a little! We had a few projects - teacher appreciation gifts, cousin Emma's bday favors, planting flowers and organizing. We also took some time to complete a lego project, play outside, go on a couple of walks in search of bunnies, and pick strawberries. We indulged in a movie night, sleeping in Mommy's bed and breakfast in bed.

USS North Carolina
We took the kids to explore the battleship resting in Wilmington. Peter was our tour guide. The kids were extremely excited and interested!
Mother's Day Brunch
Grandma Mary and Papa D. took us to Blue Water for a beautiful Mother's Day brunch on the inter-coastal waterway. When we returned home from Wilmington the kids surprised me with adorable art. It was a beautiful Mother's Day!!!
