Soccer!

Alex started soccer this weekend!  It is an hour long - half practice, half scrimmage, ending with a parent tunnel (which the kids LOVED!).  Cutest thing I have ever seen!

Bucket List

As the summer comes to a close :( the kids have created a "Bucket List" of things they would like to do over the final two weeks.  On the list they included: Museum of life and science (done), baking, projects, movie theater, sleepover, ice cream, pool and LOTS of at home play time.  So we have been chipping away at the list and made some progress this week!
Movie Theater: Despicable Me 3
(I am the dorky mom that packs lunch for the movie theater)
 Baking: Gluten Free M&M Cookies
 Pelican's SnowBalls
 Volcano Explosion
Andia's Ice Cream Shop (NEW)
 Pool Time
Slime Project

Museum of Life and Science

Before we return to school we like to visit the  Museum of Life and Science.  We were able to coordinate the day trip with our friends in Durham, Jen and the Boys, to make it even more special! The kids had a blast exploring all the exhibits inside, learning about the wolf pups, butterflies, and bears and of course playing in the big treehouse and stream.

Camp

Kate and Max got to return to their favorite farm for different camps this week with friends.
Max joined two buddies at Tinkering Camp!  In Tinkering camp the kids works collaboratively to design, create and execute a creation of their own. This week they made a chain reaction sort of contraption that ultimately dumped a bucket of paint on one of the counselors - and it worked!
Kate joined three friends for Organic Art Camp.  In addition to playing with all the farm animals, stomping around in the creek and simply playing with friends, they created all sorts of art using nature as their medium and inspiration!  The visiting artist has a degree in fine arts with a specialty in paper making - so you can imagine paper making was a big part of their week!

The kids and I spent a little extra time playing with the animals (goats, pigs, chickens, bunnies, and llamas) we have fallen in love with this summer!

Sun Star Farm holds a special place in all of our hearts!
