The girls and I took a little road trip to Greensboro this weekend. Cousin Adam wanted a swing and we had one, so we packed our lunches and hit the road! The Kimball family joined us for an impromptu sidewalk visit while we sat in/on our car (in the rain)! It was the highlight of our weekend!

Virtual Academy - Week 4
Hard to believe we are halfway through our first quarter. Kids were busy with mid-unit assessments this week across the board. Anna and Alex took their BOY reading assessments. The kids are all in the groove of their virtual learning environment.
Anna is independent on her platform and use all of her resources and tools with ease. We have a check-in at the end of the day to review the work she is ready to submit.
Alex is completely independent with his virtual meets. He can easily navigate to his Seesaw platform to find and complete his assignments independently. He enjoys working on Epic and Brainpop when he has a few minutes to spare between meets or before the day gets started. This week they added in small group social centers in which he meets up with the teacher and three friends and they just chat about anything and everything.

Camp Kranz
The labor day weekend brought us the perfect opportunity and weather for backyard camping. We had a blast for two whole days playing outside - doing crafts, reading, listening to music, playing games - sleeping outside and enjoying out new FIRE PIT!

Anna's Volcano
In science, Anna's class went on a virtual trip of some of the Hawaiian volcanoes and lava tubes. Then they were encouraged to build their own volcano - you only need to ask once...:)

Virtual Academy - Week 3
This was a FULL week! I am so impressed with these teachers - they ROCK!!!
Kate and Max were in week 2 of their full schedule with quizzes, science project, mid-unit assessments, break-out groups, geography research project, PE and typing. They rocked it all - so proud of them!
Anna has really stepped it up. This was the first full week of her schedule and she totally nailed it. She has her schedule down - ELA, handwriting, math, social studies, science, small groups, specials - and is always looking for ways to maximize her time.Alex is absolutely engaged in her live sessions. He worked on his first story with excellent details and first sentence. Alex is doing well navigating google classroom, seesaw assignments, Epic, and written work. He especially loved PE and Music this week. He finished his week with a Chrysanthemum project.
