Alex LOVES trying new foods. The one request he had for this week as only child was to eat out at some special restaurants. We hit Vin Ruuge (French), Juju (Pan-Asian), SAAP (Laotian), Mezcalito (Mexican) and Naos (Greek). He has not met a food or spice he does not like and the leftovers are equally good! Such a fun way to spend time together.
First Tee has this special program at Prestonwood Country Club for youth to play 9-holes with a mentor. The course is beautiful and much harder than we have experienced. The coaches provided great encouragement and suggestions as they enjoyed walking the course together. It was a great experience.
We had a unique opportunity through Endless Sports to up-cycle 96 bowling pins to be used as trophies for their end of season ceremony. We accepted the challenged! I think they turned out AMAZING!
Since Alex is my only child this week, we have had some extra special snuggle time, movie watching, game playing, and GOLF time together!
Neighbor Emma is visiting from the Netherlands and we had the gift of taking her to Wilmington for a full weekend of fun, food, and sleepover parties. It is great to see how they pick up with each other like there has been no time or distance between them. Emma is just the sweetest and I am so grateful she is still part of our family.
Kate and Max are spending two weeks at Duke participating in a neuroscience (Kate) and law and advocacy (Max) program designed to give them a real taste of college life including classes with professors, projects, living in dorms, eating on campus, and enjoying the college life including the Durham Bulls, water balloon fights, Frankie’s, field games in the quad, World Cup watch party and so much more!
