Due to power outages and storm damage throughout the area, Kate and Max got a surprise day off of school. We dropped Anna off at preschool and one thing led to another...and then it was time to pick Anna up from school.  We spent the rest of the day outside!

National Walk to School Day

TODAY is National Walk to School Day.  A fun group of us moms/neighbors worked together to organize our elementary students and their families to walk to school today.  The school staff, police, parents, and teachers all helped make this morning happen. A special thanks to Advocates for Health in Action who inspired us in so many ways and gave us TONS of freebies for the kids and signs for advertising the event! We had an awesome turn-out and the kids really got excited about all the little details - balloons, stickers, chalk walk messages, pencils, bookmarks, bag tags, the police officers and of course Millie the Panther!

Upchurch Farm

We welcomed October with a visit to one of our local pumpkin patches! The kids were very excited about this farm because of the extra large corn pit, giant haystacks, and pick your own pumpkin off the vine.  The animals, cotton picking, hayride, and corn maze were also bit hits! I love fall!!!
