Emma Has Arrived!

Kate and Max now have a cousin - Emma Elizabeth Welch!

Emma arrived May 20, 2009 at 2:05am. She weighed 7lb 4oz and measured 19in.

A big day in our house. Max and Kate were enjoying a little tummy time this morning. Kate was showing Max how to hold up his head. The next thing I knew, Kate rolled over onto her back. We had this moment where we looked at each other thinking "did that really just happen?" and indeed it did. WOW! I can not believe it. Max promptly put his head down...

Good Things Come in Threes

What a fabulous day...

1. Max slept for 5 hours straight and Kate slept for 6 hours!

2. Max and Kate pooped at the same time before we left the house!

3. Max weighs 11lb 7.6oz and Kate weighs 10lbs 11oz!

YAY for a wonderful day!

Unique Personalities

Max and Great are great! Even though many people think they are looking more alike, they are developing unique personalities.

Fun Facts
Kate is very outgoing. She smiles, talks, demands our attention, wiggles nonstop until she falls asleep, and loves to swing for hours. She discovered that their is a baby in the mirror and tried to touch the baby! I find her sleeping on her side from time-to-time. During tummy time she will inchworm her way toward toys, but then does not know what to do. She would prefer to be naked but dresses come in a close second! She is working on her giggles and bubbles.

Max is very talkative and smiley in the early morning before Kate wakes up. He enjoys time in the bathroom whether we are are getting ready for the day or he is taking a bath. He does not like to be cold at all. He LOVES his hat even though it is too big. He panics when he can not see me and/or can not find his pacifier. Max will cuddle with me anytime which makes us both smile. Our morning walks are always a soother.

2 Month Visit

We had our two month well baby check-up. Max is 10lb 5oz and Kate is 9lb 12oz! Hooray. They received a series of three shots and an oral vaccine - they did so well. :) They both cried for approximately 5 seconds and then promptly fell asleep for 1.5 days only to rise for food!

Fun Facts: Kate has her days and nights mixed up. Max LOVES Kate, he constantly tries to rub her hair, hold her hand, cuddle close. Both enjoys sleeping in their crib, bouncer, swing, carseat, and Baby Bjorn. They each have their own distinctive cry and are just beginning to giggle. I am not sure how to teach an infant how to giggle, but it sure is cute listening to them make a variety of noises and smile with great pride. They have long conversations with me and daddy and thrive on the attention of us mimicking their noises (to the best of our ability).
