 Dose #2: History in the Making

Camp Wilmington

Grandma Mary and Papa D. invited the kids for "Camp Wilmington".  They are spending an entire week playing in the pool, playing tennis, going kayaking, baking, crafting, gaming!  I asked the kids to send me one fun picture each day.  WOW, what a memory maker!!!

Eno River

Ahhhhh, it feels like summer now that we have had our inaugural dip in the Eno.  It was better than ever!  The kids found crayfish, snakes, minnows, and frogs. Remnants of the slide were still in place and we spent hours building up the sides and digging it out to make it deeper for tubes. The falls somehow seemed shorter but no less fun!!! Finn was in heaven, off leash!  It was a glorious day!

Father's Day

We LOVE to celebrate our Daddio!!! I am so grateful to be on this parenting journey with such a loving, compassionate, thoughtful husband and Dad to our kiddos. So proud of all Peter has accomplished, the incredible life he provides and the family he has created!

Thinking Thursday

 Thinking Thursday is a much anticipated day of the week that started by accident last year.  Since we could not go tot the library last year, each kid made a wish list of books and then I had made a stash.  They were released one at a time every Thursday.  The kids quickly realized that they could swap with each other when they finished their books, which gave them a nice selection and variety.  So the kids have been busy reading today!

Writing Wednesday

 On Wednesday, we write our own short stories.  It is fun seeing and hearing where the kids minds go. They like to share their stories as they develop and get feedback from each other. There are some signature components that each little writer likes to include. The process is as fun as the end product.

Tinkering Tuesday

 We had a blast on Tinkering Tuesday making a bottle rocket!  By the fifth attempt, our neighbor who just happened to work for Nasa, came out with a box and level and we had lift off!!!

Maniac Monday

We have a theme for each day during the summer.  Mondays are Maniac Monday and we play an assortment of games!  This week we played ZINGO and Monopoly Deal! It turned out to be a hilarious couple of hours of strategizing, alliances, and surprising upsets!

Pool Time

We had a picnic at Mimi's house and headed to the pool!  It was a wonderfully refreshing and carefree afternoon.
