3-Day Weekend

Have I mentioned that I love 3-day weekends - my favorite?!?! I asked the kids what they wanted to do and the unanimously suggested FRIENDS! So Friends is what they got!

Friday

Max invited Alec to lunch at five guys followed by legos, laser tag, hide-n-seek and kickball with other friends in the neighborhood.

Saturday

Kate invited Ali to play with Finn, bake cookies, and do a STEM project.

Sunday

Anna and I picked up Peyton for ice cream at Andia's followed by crafts, tree climbing and Peep houses

Throughout the weekend we sprinkled in lots of extra play time, Peter and I got a date night in Chapel Hill and all my planters are filled with fresh flowers, herbs, and vegetables!

Let's Grow Something

Alex is trying really hard to grow some herbs for our garden!

NCAA

Max has really gotten into the NCAA tournament this year!  We all have our brackets filled out and he keeps track of wins and losses!

Spring

Battle of the Books

Kate wrapped up an exceptional Battle of the Books season reading 15 books in 6 months!  106 kids competed in groups of 5-6 kids to recall the most minute details about 15 books - WOW! It was an exciting and intense competition.  We are so proud of Kate and her group!

I love the numbers related to Battle of the Books  - 

• 15 books to read
• 18 teams collaborating together
• 106 students reading their hearts out
• 1,590 books read
• 424, 636 pages turned

Mystery Reader

We really surprised Anna and her friends this week with Mimi as the mystery reader!

Mimi's clues had everyone stumped:

1. My Age is between 50-100

2. My first pets name was Mayonnaise.

3. I once got locked in a candy store. 

I can say, Mimi is one of a kind, hands down, best mystery reader ever! She had a whole mini lesson on quilting wrapped into a 30 minute book - seriously! 

Claire's 2nd Birthday

We had the BEST time celebrating sweet Claire at her house.  We had fun playing, doing crafts, eating the cutest cake ever, doing a scavenger hunt and playing kickball.
