Chihuly Inspired Art

Mimi gave the kids an interesting book about Dale Chihuly's art work.  He is especially known for his glassblowing. After we read the book, the kids and I were inspired to go a little nuts with color... We painted canvas using water guns filled with paint!!! A total blast! Thank you Mimi for inspiring us in so many ways!

Blueberry Pickin'

Blueberry season is in full swing! We were thrilled to learn that our favorite blueberry farm, Buckwheat Farm, was ready for little pickers! Oh the fun we had... Every bush (tree) was loaded with amazing berries!  Kate yelled from her under her tree, "I could pick berries for days!"

Swim Lessons for Anna

Anna has been eagerly waiting for her swim lessons with Coach Ryan.  This guy and his sister are too cute and absolutely love working with the kids.  Fortunately for us, this "group lesson" was only Anna and one other kid so practically one-on-one the whole week!  Anna was so ready for this and made HUGE gains - jumping off the side and swimming like a tadpole on her own.  I was so excited I cried and Kate and Max were standing on the side cheering her on!

First Swim Meet

Our first swim meet was a huge success. The kids each swam in three events, freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke!  They seemed to have a lot of fun and were really proud of their accomplishments. 

Max is fiercely competitive but he always has a smile in the end!

The kids and I truly looked forward to and enjoyed celebrating our Daddio this weekend. Peter works so hard to make our life easier and full of incredible experiences and opportunities. Above all, Peter (aka Daddy, Daddio, Prince Charming, Mister...) makes sure that each one of us feels loved and special.

Roost at Fearrington Village

We checked out live music, wood-fired pizza, wine and the cows at Fearrington Village. It was the perfect summer evening!

Cousin Beach Week

The Cousin Beach Week was a BLAST!  The kids could not have had more fun.  We spent the majority of our time ON the beach.  In addition we visited the pool, did several craft projects, went to the movies, spent hours playing hide-and-seek and had a few tea parties!  We are already talking about next year...

Wilmington - Beach Day

My sister, Liz, talked me into taking the kids to Wilmington for Cousin Beach Week! Liz's best friend Allison, Gary and her two kids (which we also call our cousins) are here with us.  Day one at the beach was spectacular!

Recital

The long awaited dance recital was a HUGE success! Anna and Kate could not have enjoyed themselves more!
