Meet Frosty
The kids and I were thrilled when we realized the snow was in perfect condition for snowman making! We rolled giant snowballs all around the backyard which was hilarious. Even more hilarious was when I tried to pick up a snowball and realized it was not happening. :) So this is a smaller version of the original. The kids unanimously agreed to name him Frosty. Anna continued to check on Frosty all day, hoping he would "come to life!"
Winter Weather - Round 2
The kids and I were soooo excited to get an unexpected SNOW DAY today. We had the most beautiful, fluffy white snow that lasted ALL DAY. We headed out for a little snow time, warmed up with hot chocolate and crafts, played with our neighbors, gobbled up a waffles lunch (syrup and snow seem to go together), baked cookies and played outside some more. A fantastic snow day with more to come...

A Little Lesson
Kate took it upon herself to set up a twenty minute math lesson for Alexander. I kid you not, Kate was using cupcakes to explain counting, adding and subtracting to a six month old. Alexander was engaged through the entire lesson.
One Year
One year ago, Anna was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

Wintery Mix!
We definitely enjoyed some more outside time before the below zero temps took hold and while it snowed! We took advantage of Mr. Paul's awesome shoveling and created a makeshift slope for sledding, threw a few snowballs and worked on a snow fort. Alexander napped in the green house stroller and then played inside with Ms. Nicole.

First Snow of 2015
The kids have anticipated the annual snowfall since last February. As soon as the first snow started falling we had to go outside (in our PJs) and get a little taste!
It turned out to be quite an icy night and we woke up to streets iced
over and some very happy kiddos! The Serrano boys were ready and willing
to load up sleds and dive in front of runaway toboggans to avoid more than a
few near disasters. :) The kids had a blast!
Alexander's First Snow (angel) in Peter's vintage '77 snowsuit. Our neighbor, Nicole, was kind enough to play with Alexander inside while I stayed outside with the rest of the crew and Daddy worked!
We headed in for some hot chocolate, tea party style, and play time while clothes dried out. Then we were at it again. This repeated itself All. Day. Long for a really spectacular snow day!

Kindergarten Valentine's Day
I had the honor of bringing in treats for Kate and Max's Valentine celebration. The teachers did a great job making this holiday all about love from friends and family. The kids made their own valentine boxes, parents sent in surprise Valentine's cards for their child, they exchanged valentine's with each other and of course their was plenty of refined sugar to go around! :)
Bubbly Bears Valentine's Celebration
We had such a fun time celebrating valentine's day in Anna's classroom. She was the line leader and snack person for the day so we made extra valentine's using applesauce for her "AWESOMESAUCE" friends! Since they are the "Bubbly Bears" we made valentine's using bubbles. We had so much fun with all our little projects.

Park Paradise
We were in absolute heaven this weekend when we had a clear, sunny 65 degree day. We spent most of our time OUTSIDE and could not resist the urge to visit Kelly Park and try out our walkie-talkies - They Work!
Aunt Abigail
Thanks Aunt Abigail for coming to Cary two weekends in a row to be a rock star aunt and Mother's helper! Could not have done it so smoothly without you and your timer!

YVBA
YVBA paid us a visit this weekend. She helped out big time with all the kids! We had a lot of fun playing, doing crafts, baking cookies for the teachers, celebrating K&M's birthday, reading books and playing outside.
Good Times, Great Memories!

Paddington
Auntie Lana and Uncle Charles gave the kids tickets to see Paddington in the movie theater as a birthday gift. It was such a cute movie - I loved it! Thank you so much for the fun activity to do with the kids - brilliant birthday idea!
Thank you Aunt Sue for watching Alexander!
