Perpetual Motion

The most beautiful piece of art arrived for Alexander. Mimi and Pop Pop worked with a local artist, Hollis Gabriel, to design a sea themed mobile for Alexander's room.  Hollis paints her own mylar, cuts out each individual piece and carefully balances the unique combination of shapes and colors that capture your attention in so many different ways. Thank you Mimi and Pop Pop for this extra special gift that will be admired for a lifetime.

Boosterthon Fun Run

The kids experienced their first (of many) Boosterthon used to raise funds for the school.  The big grand finale was a fun run. The kids really enjoyed the entire program and were very excited to participate in the run with their class.
Max was so eager to run the entire time and complete all 35 laps in the allotted time.
Kate ran the whole time with the biggest smile on her face.  She seemed to just enjoy the whole event - cheering, singing, music...!
I really enjoyed being able to be there and cheer the kids on.  I loved seeing the positive atmosphere Ms. Milberg is creating within her classroom.

Maine Events

Peter took Kate and Max to Maine for Uncle Matt and Uncle Brent's wedding weekend!  They had the most incredible time - adventure after adventure.  I even got a few pictures from Peter, Mimi and Matt's fb page (thanks Jack)!  Here are the highlights:
Upon arriving in Portland, they stopped at the Children's Museum!
Friday morning they had rehearsal then helped Mimi and Pop Pop pick out Lobsters for the rehearsal Dinner. The kids and Peter checked out Belfast, visited a candy store and searched the rocky shores for sea glass.
Rehearsal Dinner at Young's Lobster Pound.  Mimi outdid herself with decorations, favors, games, and a birthday cake for Uncle Brent!

Saturday morning started with a visit to the hair salon for Kate.  Max's favorite part of the weekend was the sailing trip around the Penobscot Bay aboard the Schooner Stephen Taber.
The wedding was at The Rockport Boat Club right on the water.  Kate was the flower girl and Max was the ring bearer!
Sunday morning there was a beautiful brunch at Salt Water Farm before they headed back to NC.

The kids will never forget all the wonderful adventures that made this weekend so memorable. Wishing you both a lifetime of memorable adventures together.  We love you guys!

Special Surprises

Anna, Alexander and I were home alone this weekend, while the other half traveled to Maine for Uncle Matt and Uncle Brent's wedding weekend extravaganza.  Our "weekend" started Thursday - we did a lot of our normal activities (i.e library, park, preschool, errands) while sprinkling in several surprises!  Here are a few of the highlights:

Our neighbor gathered an entire bag full of new dress-up clothes for Anna including her absolute favorite princess - Snow White!
Grandma Mary sent a Doc McStuffins dress-up Outfit which led to HOURS of checking out patients and adding new diagnosis to our homemade "Anna's Big Book of Boo Boos".
Long walks with our breakfast and Disney music BLASTING! We definitely saw a few people chuckle as we passed by singing Let It Go as loud as we could!
Dinner and a Movie
Our old babysitter, Ms. Rachel, stopped by for a farewell visit as she headed to Atlanta.
We played at the Garden Center where they were having a little fall festival.
We all had a blast, Anna forgot that Uncle Matt told her she could dance at his wedding and we are more than eager to see Max, Kate and Daddio very soon!

Where is Alexander?

Dress Up Selfies

Thank you Ms Carin and Emma for filling our dress-up trunk with new outfits!

Homework

Two successful homework assignments completed and turned in!

Anna did not care about the math homework but she definitely wanted to make an All Abut Me poster.

Stresses of a 5-Year Old

Max had to stay home from school today due to a fever.  When I broke the news that he was going to have to stay home, he sobbed... After a while, he gathered his thoughts and said, "Mom, I have made a list of my worries, are you ready to hear them?" As serious as I could be, I listened very intently to his list of worries (bless his heart):

1. What about Letterland?!?!
2. I will miss free choice time
3. I will miss my friends at school
4. Not getting pokeman cards
5. Not riding the bus
