18 Months

Our little girl is 1.5 years old - WOW! She is such a little character with an opinion about everything from food to her clothes!

We love to watch her walk.  She is so proud of herself and says, "I did it!" and waves her hands in the air. In the last two weeks she has transitioned to mostly walking. Now that she is walking more, she is able to copy her big sister more. Anna tries to emulate Kate's ballet with these grand gestures with her arms, legs in the air, and bows.

She tells us "I want cheese."  Cheese refers to all food including cheese.  I have decided that cheese means please! She says "All Dee (done) after each meal/snack and puts her hands out to get cleaned.  She uses a lot more directional words like up, down, in, out, on and silly phrases like "uh oh pado (spaghettio)" and "wee" when sliding her baby down a slide. She follows simple directions like: sit down, lay down, put clothes in hamper, show me where ______is, get your shoes, clean up, come here etc.

She loves Kate's critter house.  Aunt Liz let us borrow Emma's critter cabin which is the perfect size for Anna with no tiny parts. Anna keeps adding critters and furniture to her cabin from Kate's stuff. :) Anna walks around upstairs with her shopping cart collecting random stuff from every room. She really seems to love all the little things that go in the critter house and pirate ship.  She has her eye on the legos which we have up high (most of the time).

Outside time is the best!  Anna just dives into everything - water, dirt, toys, bubbles, chalk... it really does not matter, when she is outside she is an extra happy little kid! When we go to the park she tries to do everything the kids do even though she is too little but that does not stop her from trying. She climbs into the double stroller and wants us to go on  walk with the kids.

We love you sweet baby girl!

Quack, Quack!

We took advantage of the best afternoon of the week and the arrival of my Mom to visit the duckies. I love how each kid has their own way of feeding cheerios to the ducks:

Max wants to Git-R-Done, so he can play in the water.

Kate gives a few to the ducks, and takes a few for herself...

Anna follows the ducks around screaming "ducky" and never lets go of the cheerio.

Ready. Set. FLY!

Brilliant Birthday Bash

We celebrated Alex's birthday at the Observation Deck at RDU - Park, Planes and food!
Seriously brilliant location!
Happy Birthday Alex!

Put Me In Coach

Sneaky

The other day, Anna was playing in the pantry and pulled out a juice box, got the straw out of the plastic, put it in the hole and proceeded to drink the juice box on her own. She even shared with her baby.  She was so proud of herself, "she looked up at me and said "cheese!" so I would take a picture.

Mimi's Park

Last week we had the perfect weather for a surprise trip to Bond Park to feed the ducks, geese, turtles (whatever was around), play on the playground and have a picnic.  When we got to the park Kate screamed, "Mimi's Park!!!"  This is definitely the park Mimi loves to take the kids to when she visits.

Ahh, Sunshine I Love You

...and so do my kiddos!
It is a good day when everyone and everything in the backyard is soaked, Anna is naked and the entire toy box is empty!
