Heidi and I took the kids to Holland's Farm to pick strawberries. The kids had a blast eating, running up and down the isles, playing under the shed on an old trailer, and oh yeah picking a few strawberries!

Limericks by Gram
My Gram taught us all sorts of limericks, some were more appropriate than others. Here are a few of our favorites (as I remember them)...
Two Irishmen two Irishmen were diggin in a ditch
One called the other one a dirty son of a
Peter Murphy Peter Murphy had a little dog
A very fine dog was he
He gave it to his neighbor to keep her company
She fed it she fed it and taught it how to jump
It jumped right up her petticoat and bit her in the
Asters azaleas 25 cents a bunch and
If you don't like my story you can kiss my rump!
There was a little dog and his name was Bing
He'll be eight years old if he lives 'till spring
His head bulges out and his rear caves in
It's a darn good dog for the shape he's in!
Little old lady time for tea
Here's a kiss, two, or three
Your just like the little old lady
I hold dear to me...
Little bit of business here
little bit of business there
I'll bet you've been window shopping all around the square.
There was a little dog and his name was Jack
He pooped all over the railroad track
The train came by
The poop flew high
and hit the conductor square in the eye!

Easter Celebration
We spent the day with Mimi, Pop Pop , Andy, Jenny, and Matt in Greensboro. The kids had a blast, as always! They got tons of attention from everyone, dyed eggs AGAIN, found Easter baskets, played outside, explored Pop Pop's workshop and boat, found MORE eggs, and even saw some baby ducks, chicks, and bunnies.

Egg-citing!!!
We dyed eggs today for the first time. We stuck to the basics but this kids could not get enough. They were absolutely amazed when they pulled their eggs out of each cup and they had changed color. Peter about had a heart attack when he walked in the door!

Celebrating Life
We were able to travel to Minnesota this past week to be with my family and celebrate my Gram's life. It was truly a gift to be a part of the celebration. My Aunt Sue planned and facilitated a beautiful memorial mass. My Aunt Sue's words were thoughtful, funny and touching. My Mom and sister planned a lovely dinner reception complete with Gram's favorite Italian meal from DeGidio's! The burial service was especially memorable for me. It was short and sweet set in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery covered with fresh snow. Now my Gram rests in peace with my Grandpa.
We spent the rest of the time as a family, telling stories, eating great meals at Grams favorite spots and enjoying time together.
Thank you Mimi and Pop for taking care of the kids. They had a wonderful time going to the park, playing with new toys, participating in storytime, and picking strawberries.

Backyardigans
The girls next door always call Max and Kate to the fence to "talk" and share random finds in their backyard. This usually results in us playing in the backyard, rotating between the trampoline, slide, swings, and cozy coupe. Max LOVES the trampoline. He runs and dives and screams the whole time. Absolutely hilarious. Kate is everywhere for three minutes at a time... She wants Gabrielle to do everything with her.

Lil' Kickers
Max says, "I kick ball, Mama kick ball, Kate kick ball, Daddy kick ball." He is absolutely so proud every time he kicks the ball. He LOVES to find his "spot" on the circle. He says "I run fast" when we start warm-ups. He stomps out the bubbles with so much vigor. He proudly puts his hands on his head and waits for his stamps at the end of each practice.

Daddy, Elp You!
Kate and Max were very excited to help Daddy work in the yard this weekend between gusts of wind.
Kate repeated "Daddy, Elp (Help) You", "what doing?" and "Oh no, my hair a mess, windy." between hugs and kisses for Daddy, riding her bike, wrestling with Max, and eating snacks. What a girl!
Max made himself busy with carrying plants to and from (and back to) the car, adding dirt to everything, watering all the flowers, riding his bike and of course lining up his trucks and filling them with dirt and mulch. What a boy!
